Opera laudatory or mythological?

"The Rooms for the Joust" by Angelo Poliziano is a narrative poem in which the poet intends to celebrate the success of Giuliano de 'Medici in the games set up by his brother Lorenzo the Magnificent, at the peace agreement reached between major Italian powers in 1474, thanks to the diplomacy of Lorenzo himself. The poem then comes
encomiastic with intent, an act that is to praise the talents and enterprise of the characters in the play, following the romance of 1400. E 'written in the vernacular, although many are the influences of many literary styles such as Dolce Stil Novo and style of Petrarch.
During the narration, however, that the story happens to be interrupted by frequent digressions mythological character who are loving and losing sight of the end of the poem to praise the company Giuliano, the theme of the ride and victory are not even treated in fact, while much space is devoted to a description of the first meeting between Julius and Simonetta, compared to a nymph of the classical tradition, and the description of the realm of Venus.
On the other hand the work is incomplete and we do not know how it wished to pursue Poliziano "Le Stanze" that, until the abrupt end, reflect only the literary taste of police personnel.
